What Clixarena is

Clixarena is a discovery service for movies, TV shows, and anime. We help you find what to watch and link you to where it streams — we don't host, encode, or serve video content ourselves.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address.
• If you sign up with a password, a salted, one-way cryptographic hash of that password. We never store your password in plain text, and we cannot recover it — only verify it.
• If you sign in with Google, your Google account ID, email address, and basic profile info (whatever your Google account sharing settings permit) — never your Google password.

We don't collect payment information, government ID, phone numbers, or precise location.

Cookies

We use a small number of strictly functional cookies:

• A session cookie that keeps you signed in, valid for 7 days.
• A short-lived cookie (10 minutes) used only during Google Sign-In to protect against forged login attempts.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or analytics cookies that follow you across other sites.

How we use your information

• To create and secure your account, and keep you signed in.
• To operate core features like a personal watchlist, if and when you use them.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Third-party services we rely on

To show you titles, posters, and metadata, our servers query:

• TMDB (The Movie Database) for movies and TV shows.
• AniList for anime.

These requests happen server-side; browsing the catalog does not send your personal data to these providers. If you sign in with Google, Google processes the sign-in itself under its own privacy policy.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us using the details below and we'll remove it.

Security

Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2 and a unique random salt per account — never stored or logged in plain text. Session cookies are HTTP-only, marked Secure, and signed so a tampered cookie is rejected before it's ever looked up.

Children's privacy

Clixarena is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
